School Secretary

 

NOTICE OF VACANCY:  Secretary (12–months)

                                            

Charlotte County Public Schools is seeking applications to fill a secretarial position at Eureka Elementary. The applicant shall possess knowledge and skills related to the function of a business office along with experience and certifications as listed below.

 

Duties and Qualifications:

  1. Composes or transcribes from rough draft, correspondence, bulletins, memorandums, and other materials.
  2. Handles enrollment and withdrawal of students.
  3. Enters daily attendance into the computer system and prepares necessary correspondence.
  4. Compiles and files student grade and attendance reports and other school records.
  5. Greets visitors to school, determines nature of business, and directs visitors to destination.
  6. Talks with student encountering problem and resolves problem or directs student to other worker.
  7. Answers telephone to provide information, take message, or transfer calls.
  8. Works with the Bookkeeper to maintain office and school supplies, prepare inventories and requisition supplies.
  9. Maintains calendar of school events.
  10. Type letters, forms, reports and other materials.
  11. Receives and distributes all consumable supplies used in the office.
  12. Maintains the confidentiality of reports, records, and personal experiences regarding students, employees, and parents.
  13. Serves as a backup to the bookkeeper when needed.
  14. Serves as personal secretary to the principal/assistant principal(s).
  15. Other duties as assigned.

 

Salary Range:                            $24,000 – 37,208

Anticipated Starting Date:         July 1, 2021
