Charlotte County Public Schools (CCPS) opened their doors to staff on Monday, August 5th, marking the official start of the 2024-2025 academic year. The day began with a convocation event designed to inspire and energize the educators, staff, and administrators who play a pivotal role in shaping the future of the community's students.
This year's convocation featured a keynote address from Micah White, a comedian/motivational speaker from Richmond, Virginia. Known for his dynamic presentation style, White delivered a message filled with laughter, wisdom, and encouragement, setting a positive tone for the year ahead. His words resonated with the audience, reminding them of the vital impact they have on student's lives and the importance of maintaining passion and perseverance in their roles.

School Board Chairman, Mr. Hamlett welcomed the staff and congratulated them on the ranking of CCPS performance, and being rated the top sixth in the state for the best school district and the best school district to teach for in Virginia. Superintendent, Dr. Robbie Mason, welcomed staff back and expressed his gratitude for the professionalism and dedication of the CCPS staff. He reviewed SOL testing data for the 23-24 school year with the staff and outlined summer building projects that have been completed.
The convocation concluded with four Professional Development sessions. Staff left the event ready to welcome students back to school and committed to making the 2024-2025 school year a successful and impactful one.
Charlotte County Public Schools will officially welcome students back to classrooms on Monday, August 12th.
