Bacon District Elementary received a prestigious honor from the Virginia Board of Education and was recognized at the Charlotte County Public School's Board Meeting on November 12th. Bacon was recognized as one of only 92 schools in Virginia to earn the 2024-25 “Board of Education Highest Achievement Award” which is based on high levels of success across all quality indicators including narrowing achievement gaps. There are approximately 1900 schools in Virginia, which means that only about 5% of schools in Virginia received this award. Bacon was the only elementary school in Region 8 to receive this recognition. Such results are even more difficult to achieve in a small school like BDES because each student’s results greatly impact overall school performance more so than in larger schools.
This recognition is a testament to the diligence and commitment of all staff members at BDES. We are extremely proud of our students and staff at Bacon.
Those in attendance from Bacon District: L to R: Mrs. Watkins, Mrs. Scott, Mrs. Ingram, Mrs. Davis, Mrs. Hudson, Ms. Devin, Mrs. Agee, Mrs. Toombs, Mrs. Snead, Mrs. Newcomb, Mrs. Nichols, and Mrs. Reed.
