Frequently Asked Questions Document for CCPS Parent Survey Instructional Options

 
  1. Will parents be able to change children to remote learning?

    Parents may only choose the remote learning (Virtual Virginia) option for their children during the open enrollment period that ends on June 30, 2021.

     

  2. What is the deadline for changing instructional delivery options?

    Since Charlotte County Public Schools will be paying tuition for Virtual Virginia on July 15, 2021, all placement changes by parents must be communicated to the child’s school by June 30, 2021.

     

  3. Are COVID Vaccine required for students?

    COVID Vaccines are not required for student attendance.

     

  4. Will social distance and mask-wearing remain in place?

    At this point, social distancing and mask-wearing will remain in place for 2021-2022. If guidance from the VDH changes, we will consider these new options.

     

  5. Is there a remote option for Pre-K?

    There is no remote Pre-K option for the 2021-2022 school year.

     

  6. How can I get more information about Virtual Virginia?

  7. Would CCPS return to remote instruction should health conditions worsen?

    If health conditions worsen, CCPS may return to remote instruction. This decision would be made through consultation with the Piedmont Health District.

     

  8. What is the start date for in-person instruction?

    The start date for in-person instruction is August 9, 2021.

     

  9. Will after-school daycare be available?

    After-school daycare will be available during the 2021-2022 school year unless health conditions change.

     

  10.  Will after-school remediation be available?

     After-school remediation will resume during the 2021-2022 school year.

     

  11.  Will CCPS offer summer enrichment this year?

    CCPS will only conduct a six-week summer school this year. If other programs become possible, they will be announced to parents.

    The high school will offer a three-week credit recovery and project graduation this summer.

     

  12.  What is the tuition cost for Virtual Virginia?

         K-5 fee for 2021-2022 is $1,325 per student, per semester.
         6-12 fee for 2021-2022 is $125 per student, per course, per semester. These fees will need to             be paid to CCPS if your child is removed from Virtual Virginia.
