Operations Technician

JOB SUMMARY

Performs complex secretarial work of an administrative nature. Provides assistance to the department head in administrative areas. Works with minimal instruction or supervision.  This position reports to department head.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Maintenance Direct Administrator – oversee all Maintenance and Technology Work Orders.   This includes working with Maintenance and Technology supervisors to ensure that all works in being performed.   This restructure allows all requests either maintenance or technology to go through one point.
  2. Maintains the Angel Trax Flex Play Pro and Flex Play (video systems) which consist of 2 programs and 3 types of hard drives for transportation.  This includes updates, replacements, and training for administration. 
  3. Pulls recording devices from school buses and cars for all discipline student issues; views the video; documents incidents; makes clips of incidents; places clip on the web site for each school; contracts school administrator; prepares discipline referral; and sends referral to each school. Make notes of all videos watched. - Report findings to Supervisor
  4. Conducts and monitors scheduled video checks of all student transportation vehicles to ensure safety and professionalism of drivers and aides. Checks items such as speed, GPS, camera for Audio/Visual, student counts, and post-trip required by VDOE
  5. Provides feedback to garage mechanics regarding Video system deficiencies and repair needs
  6. Maintains an active Commercial Driver’s License with school bus endorsements and is available to assist in driving a bus in case of an emergency
  7. Assist Supervisor of Transportation with all related areas pertaining to the safe and efficient operation of the Transportation department.
  8. Maintains procurement orders and vender invoice files and sends to Finance Director.
  9. Keep records of Compensatory Time for Maintenance Dept. and Transportation Department (including Certificates of Absence)
  10. Other duties as assigned as related to Facilities/Maintenance/Transportation.

 

PREFERRED TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

1.        Advanced training in typing and general office procedures

2.        Previous experience working in an office setting

3.        Any equivalent combination of training and experience
