We appreciate your interest in Charlotte County Public Schools. All applications must meet Virginia Licensure requirements in order to be considered for instructional positions.

CCPS accepts applications for all classifications of employees year-round. Applications submitted to the School Board Office stay in an active pool of candidates for one calendar year. At that point, the application must be updated to remain current or a new application should be completed. In the event of a vacancy, CCPS will review the current pool of applications and select qualified individuals for interviews.

Elementary Instructional Aide/Paraprofessional

Duties and Qualifications: Charlotte County Public Schools is now accepting applications for an Instructional Aide/Paraprofessional position at the elementary level beginning in the 2017-18 school year. Preference will be given to applicants with a bachelor’s degree. Additionally, applicants should be child-centered and technology oriented. The position will require lifting and the ability to move on a student level.
Base Salary:  $12,500 + 1,056 Highly Qualified Stipend

Mechanic

Charlotte County Public Schools is seeking applications to fill a Technician position in the Transportation Department. The applicant shall possess knowledge and skills to diagnose and repair problems associated with various types of vehicles along with experience and certifications as listed below.

Duties and Qualifications:

  • Performs assigned duties in the diagnosis and repair of automotive, school bus and maintenance department equipment following manufacturer’s manuals and recommendations.
  • Inspects all vehicles/buses per Virginia Department of Education requirements, makes necessary repairs, and files a written report on the repairs.
  • Performs preventive maintenance task such as changing lubricants; filters; brake pads and shoes; and tires.
  • Check bus radio two-way communications and camera surveillance systems.
  • Perform repairs to vehicle air conditioning systems.
  • Prepares a standard work order on all jobs performed listing time spent, parts used and other items as required.
  • Possess a valid Virginia driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a Class B Commercial Driver’s License with a Passenger and Bus endorsement.
  • Possess or have the ability to obtain a Virginia State Vehicle Inspection License.
  • Assist in decision making for potential closing of schools due to inclement weather.
  • Observes high standards of safety.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Salary Range: $ 32,000 - 44,136

Anticipated Starting Date: Immediately
